Experienced Fiber Splicer – Hyperscale Data Center
We’re hiring experienced ribbon fiber splicers for a 6-month contract-to-hire opportunity on a hyperscale data center project in New Albany, Ohio. This role is ideal for experienced fiber splicers with hands-on ribbon splicing, testing, troubleshooting, or high-count fiber experience who are looking for steady overtime, long-term career potential, and a clear path to permanent employment.
Compensation & Schedule
- $27–$40/hour, depending on experience
- $200/day per diem paid 7 days per week while in market
- Typically 15+ hours of overtime available each week
- 3 weeks on / 1 week off rotation
- Current schedule is 6x10s (schedule may transition to 6x12s based on project needs)
- 6-month contract-to-hire opportunity

About the Project
This project involves ribbon fiber splicing, testing, and installation work within a data center. While previous data center experience is not required, candidates will have the opportunity to gain experience working with large-count fiber systems within a data center environment.
Job Scope
- Work with high-count fiber systems ranging from 144-count fiber up to 864, 1728, and 3456-count fiber cables.
- Prepare and furcate high-count fiber cables for termination and splicing.
- Perform ribbon and mass fusion splicing within data hall enclosures.
- Conduct OTDR testing, fiber verification, and troubleshooting as needed.
- Complete splice records, test results, and required project documentation.
- Follow established quality standards and site-specific safety requirements.

What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with ribbon fiber splicing and high-count fiber systems (144-count fiber or larger).
- At least 1 year of OTDR testing and troubleshooting experience.
- Ability to read fiber assignments, splice documentation, and project instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work safely in an active construction environment.
- OSHA 10 certification or willingness to obtain within the first six months.
Preferred Qualifications
- Mass fusion splicing experience.
- Experience with 432-count, 864-count, or larger fiber systems.
- Fiber maintenance, restoration, and fault isolation experience.
- Advanced OTDR testing and troubleshooting experience.
Compensation: $27.00 - $40.00 per hour
